Conversion of 3 number under pavement Cellars Albany Street Edinburgh
We were asked to supply a specification and quotation to turn 3 number damp and derelict under pavement cellars attached to a Townhouse in Albany Street Edinburgh which was being converted.
Having Surveyed the cellars we specified that they be waterproofed utilizing heavy duty DPM Membrane and bespoke framing fixed on to a floating timber floor.
Drainage holes were bored in the substrate to channel any water away below the floors and by installing the membrane we allowed moisture to penetrate the building fabric and we diverted the water away to run off below the timber floor into the substrate drainage system below.
Stage one involved installing the membrane and partial framing enough hold the membrane in place we custom made new doors for each cellar and secured the cellars.
We then left a period of 4 weeks to ensure the system was 100% watertight prior to the remaining framing plaster boarding plasterworks and painting works were completed by us.
We finished the cellars with new skirtings and painted them internally in white the external frames and doors were painted black.
The works were completed to the satisfaction of the Management Companies Contracts Manager Marcel Borzecki on behalf of Thistle Property Co Ltd.
