Damp Treated at Loretto
We undertook treatments to eradicate wet rot and rising dampness at a 15th Century building within the Loretto School Campus in Musselburgh the project involved the removal of rotten sections of timbers and replacing them with pre treated timbers.
We utilized epoxy resin to strengthen some timbers that were partially affected by Wet rot as well as pressure injecting some timbers with preservative fluids. The walls that were affected by rising dampness were over 3 feet in thickness we drilled and injected the damp affected walls with Dryzone and installed NewLathe prior to the plastering works being carried out.
The treatments were carried out at a weekend to avoid disruption to the day to day running of the School.
